Hi! I am Aleesha Kumar, a UWA student passionate about social justice. After finishing my degree in political science, international relations and French, I am keen to study my Juris Doctor, focusing on human rights law.
Since I started at UWA, I have been involved with The UWA Alumni Fund. It’s a great way to learn about my university and help raise money for inspirational projects that are improving the lives of many UWA students.
Many people tell me the best years of their life were spent at UWA and they are keen to support today’s students in a variety of ways. I know my friends and I will feel the same in years to come.
I’ve gained so much from listening to our alumni and asking their advice about my own future. I am particularly moved when I hear the stories of female graduates who struggled to attend university and I am glad that times are changing.
Outside of university, I raise money to provide clean drinking water for communities in Kenya through my charity, the Love Foundation.
My friends at the Alumni Fund and I will be calling you soon and we are excited to hear more about your time at UWA. It will be a great opportunity to update you on what’s happening here and how you can be part of the Alumni Fund.
